Takeo Cradle of Cambodia (87 km from Phnom
Penh):
Ta Keo is one of the oldest provinces found in the
southern part of Cambodia. It is where the ancient
Kingdom of Funan was established in
around 1st century A.D. Ta Keo has a few temples
to visit including
Phnom Da, Angkor Borei the capital of the Pre-Angkorian
Epire of Funan,
Ta Phrom temple & Phnom Chisor. It is also a
chance to discover the Khmer countryside with its
traditional villages and handicraft.
Kampong Thom Lost Temples (168 km from Phnom
Penh):
Kampong Thom is situated in the central of Cambodia.
It is a small town located on the banks of the Stung
Sen River. The important site of Sambor Prei Kuk,
the ancient capital of Chenla. There are about 100
temples from the pre-Angkorian period here (7th
C.) which are surrounding by lush forest. |
